Artist's notes:

The Tyrannosaurus was completed on 6.26.2010. This was one of the first dinosaurs that the talented illustrator Carl Buell had helped me with - as he provided the pencil sketch that the drawing is based upon, as with the stegosaurus and triceratops.  I filled in the ink version and the colored version (done with a digital tablet using Photoshop.)

Information about the Tyrannosaurus :

Tyrannosaurus Rex - sometimes shortened to T-Rex - is a genus of theropod dinosaur. While it's not clear why this species, along with all the other dinosaurs went extinct, some scientists believe it died out due to a large asteroid colliding with the earth, and/or a period of extreme volcanic activity about 65 million years ago. The T-Rex has undergone massive changes over the years, from an upright lumbering predatory menace to a more agile and less predatory animal, with some scientists speculating that, because of its small and almost useless front limbs, the might T-Rex may have been a lowly scavenger.
