Artist's notes:

Domestic animals. Perhaps the name alone doesn't thrill your average wildlife illustrator. But as my image library grew, with only images of wild animals and architecture, I realized that drawing a few on the humble domestic animals such as pigs, dogs, chickens and so on might be something worth trying. I had also admired the lovely feathering of some of the breeds of chickens at the Sahuaro Ranch in Glendale Arizona. So I picked out some of the more common animals you'd find on a farm (the usual suspects; pig, cow, horse, goat, etc) and set about creating drawings of each. I was surprised how much I enjoyed drawings this commonplace animals, and when I had completed eight of them, I made a framed collage of them for our house that hangs next to my drawing board.
