The Brown Pelican was completed on 2.21.2010. Ok, even though Brown Pelicans are one of my favorite birds, for some reason it took me years to get around to drawing one! I couldn't decide if I wanted a pose that had the pelican in the water, or standing on something or in flight. When I saw a photo by Bill Bouton (which the drawing is based one) I knew what it should be be.
