The Eastern Chipmunk was completed on 11.05.09. I remember these cute little animals from my childhood camping trips. They were often so bold they would approach you begging for food, sometimes even running up your leg! Fur continues to be a challenge for me, but if I'm patient and really focus on the hair it usually turns out ok, like it did here. It is based on a photo by Warren Lynn.
The Eastern Chipmunk is a small mammal native to the eastern parts of North America. These small rodents spend most of their days foraging for food. Chipmunks are opportunistic feeder who eat nuts, berries, bulbs, insects, worms, plants and even bird eggs. Unlike other mammals in same areas the chipmunk does not hibernate. The high-pitched 'chipping' noise they make gives them their name.
