Butterflies are always fun to draw. The swallowtail's coloration is lovely and the deep blue fading into yellow is particularly beautiful. This drawing was originally a Valentine's Day gift in 2005. Color was added in 2007. If I recall correctly, this was the first butterfly I had illustrated.
The Eastern Chipmunk is a small mammal native to the eastern parts of North America. These small rodents spend most of their days foraging for food. Chipmunks are opportunistic feeder who eat nuts, berries, bulbs, insects, worms, plants and even bird eggs. Unlike other mammals in same areas the chipmunk does not hibernate. The high-pitched 'chipping' noise they make gives them their name. The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly is the state butterfly of Alabama
