The Giant Pacific Octopus was completed in 2007, based upon a photo taken in the Atlanta aquarium by a friend. The original background was replaced with the rocks and kelp. This drawing is a personal favorite of mine. I've drawn a few other octopus (blue-ringed and Atlantic) but I am always open to suggestions to draw other species.
The Giant Pacific Octopus is one of the largest species of octopods. Its body measures on average about 16 feet long from arm tip to arm tip. The Giant Pacific octopus lives along rocky shores in tide pools on the coast from Alaska to southern California. It has the ability to squirt ink at an attacker and escape while hidden by the ink cloud.
