The Granular Poison Dart Frog was part of a series of four dart frogs drawn in 2005. The digital tinting was added in 2007. I think this poison arrow frog is pretty unique, as I don't know of many animals that are red, white and blue/green. This amphibian is also sometimes called the 'Green Jeans Frog.' Recently this frog has been reclassified from Dendrobates granuliferus to Oophaga granulifera.
The Granular Poison Frog is an amphibian of the Dendrobatidae family. It is native to the subtropical and tropical lowland rainforests of Panama and Costa Rica. Like many of the world's frogs is is threatened by global warming, pollution and habitat loss. It is sometimes kept as a pet.
