Artist's notes:

green and black poison arrow frog thumb This is another 're-do' of the dart frog variety. Both the line art version and the digital tinting were completed in 2008. I traveled to Costa Rica to see these wonderful frogs in the wild, and Dendrobates auratus was the first I encountered, almost immediately arriving in the Osa Peninsula. Seeing these frogs is one of my favorite memories from the trip. The image is based on a photo by Andreas Graemiger.
