Information about the Manatee or Sea Cow:The Manatee or Sea Cow is a large, gray aquatic mammal with bodies that taper to a flat, paddle-shaped tail. They are found in shallow coastal areas, but can also be found in shallow rivers, estuaries, and canals. The average adult manatee is about 9.5 feet long and weighs between 800-1,200 pounds. The manatee illustration was completed in 2005 and the digital tinting added in 2007. The image was then re-worked in 2008 with a new water background dropped in.
