Information about the Ringtailed Lemur:Ring-Tailed Lemurs inhabit southern and southwestern Madagascar, with an additional population on the southeastern plateau of the Andringita Mountains. Lemurs spend most of their lives in trees, but they also spend considerable time on the ground, moving in a very distinctive hop. The Ring-Tailed Lemur is an average sized lemur, with a height of 15-18” inches with a tail length of 22-25” inches. They weigh about 5-7 pounds. This lemur takes its common name from the ringed pattern on the tail. Lemurs are prosimians which means "before apes" in Latin. | Description: Fine art illustration of a Ring-Tailed Lemur.
