This is another 're-do' from an earlier drawing. Snow Leopards are basically my favorite of the 'big cats.' The beauty of their coats almost defies explanation. The massive tails and big furry paws are also amazing. I'm hoping that one day I might catch a glimpse of one in the wild. The drawing is based on a photo by Helena Pugsley of a leopard residing at the Wildlife Heritage Foundation
Snow Leopards inhabit the mountain ranges of Central Asia stretching from NW China to Tibet and the Himalayas. The tails are extremely long in comparison to other cats, measuring almost as long as the body. They use the tail both for balance and covering their body, nose, and mouth during times of sub-zero temperatures. Snow Leopards cannot roar.
