The Spinner Dolphin was completed on 6.2.2010. Like many, I really love dolphins. I've been fortunate enough to see some spinners off the coasts of Hawaii. While the Bottlenose is probably the best known dolphin, the other species are more interesting in their patterns. While not colorful, dolphins certainly are beautiful animals.
The Spinner or Long-snouted Dolphin is a small Cetacean found in offshore deep tropical seas around the world, where they feed on small fish, squid and shrimp. As the name implies, they are known for their out of the water acrobatics, which can involve leaps with many rotations and splashing loudly back into the water. They are very gregarious and travel in large pods of as many as 100 and in rare occasions up to 1,000. They're often seen in groups with other species of dolphins or even tuna.
