The Strawberry Poison Dart Frog line art drawing was completed in 2004 and the digital tinting added in 2008. It was then redesigned and the tinting changed to match the new drawing. I was fortunate enough to see these brightly colored amphibians in the wild in Costa Rica.
Strawberry Poison Dart Frogs is found in the tropical rainforests of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. Only about 1 inch long, the Strawberry Poison Dart Frog is a small frog with a plump body and thin limbs. Their eggs are laid among the leaves and the newly hatched larvae are carried on the backs of the parents to a pool of water or water-filled bromeliad. This morph is sometimes called 'blue jeans' poison dart frog.
